The original versions of the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will officially be shutting down on December 16, 2021. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions feature the Rockstar Editor, a tool allowing advanced movie production in various scenarios across Grand Theft Auto Online. Grand Theft Auto Online was released on October 1, 2013, two weeks after Grand Theft Auto V. It is the sixteenth installment in the Grand Theft Auto series and the successor of Grand Theft Auto V.Īlthough being only playable with a Grand Theft Auto V copy, Grand Theft Auto Online is not considered an online component/multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto V, but a separate main title in continuous expansion. A standalone version of the game is scheduled to be released in March 5th, 2022, along with the Expanded and Enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V. The game released on Octoand is bundled with Grand Theft Auto V.
